Bendigo VVCC Visit – Northern Section VCCA

Only the hardy could brave the strong winds and inclement conditions at the Low Head Pilot Station. A few of our Northern members were in attendance with the Bendigo Veteran, Vintage and Classic Club on their 50th Anniversary Tour here in Tassie. An extensive tour of the Pilot Station, and then a nice country run along the river to Hillwood led to the Strawberry Farm Café, where hot drinks and[…]

Green Door Restaurant – Westbury

A large contingent (42 in all) of Northern Section members along with two North Westerners tasted the delights of this country restaurant. Popular is possibly not the right word for this run, as we fully packed the venue. A wonderful array of delightfully made in house foods delighted the members. Service was great and the staff delightful. The Donovan scenic tour of the Rosevale area, complete with sun filled sky[…]

2019 St Patrick’s Day – Westbury

After a cooler and cloudy start to the morning, which may have been better for the cars on parade, the sun came out with strength, and sent the crowds looking for the shade of the tree lined Village Green. 63rd Annual State Tour. – 9th to 11th March

The Northwest Section has conducted this year’s event in the picturesque hills behind Devonport. The first day ran through Railton with the “tunnel of death” the highlight, as we passed under the Bass Highway at Sassafras heading in a circle towards Wesley Vale, back to the Devonport accommodation. Peas, Pies, Potatoes and Pavlova’s created a unique tea for the entrants. Day two started in good weather as we wound our[…]

Cracked Plug Veteran Tour 2019 – Brighton to Strathgordon

Another pleasant journey along a glass like Derwent River to New Norfolk, where we crossed the bridge. The children of the Westerway morning tea stop certainly enjoyed being up and close to the vehicles. It was now time to pass into the somewhat smoky area of Maydena, where fire signs were still evident, and the sound of helicopter still present. The hills to lunch at Scott’s Peak junction were reasonable,[…]
